Kim Foster was born and raised in Miami, Florida. Her dad was a letterpress printer and event photographer which influenced Kim's decision to choose a career in graphic design. She attended Pratt Institute in New York. In her junior year she was selected to participate in a 2-year study abroad program atthe London College of Printing in England. After returning to Miami in 1974, Kim launched her business, Kim A. Foster Graphic Design.
Clients include Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, for whom Kim has produced the award-winning Images magazine since 2002. She works with Ransom Everglades School to design the semi-annual LOG magazine, a tool for alumni development. With work that includes the design of the original Miami Arena logo, to brochures and posters for Fairchild Tropical Garden, to the painting of a carved sign for Everglades Alligator Farm, Kim Foster has greatly influenced graphic design in South Florida.
